Jörg Schönert is Professor of New German Literature, Hamburg University (retired since April 2007), a member of the Interdisciplinary Centre of Narratology (ICN). He has published on the theory and practice of the social history of literature 1700-2000 (with an emphasis on structural and functional text-theoretical models); on the history of the humanities and on problems of literary theory and methodology.
